The Long Weekend

June 19 - August 2, 2015

The Long Weekend delivers non-stop mischievous fun and scrumptious plot twists! Max and Wynn are about to show off their beautiful new country home to their best friends, Roger and Abby, but it doesn’t take long to uncover the true feelings behind this long friendship. What is meant to be a relaxing holiday turns into a battle of wits as their pasts catch up with them, the gloves come off and old scores get settled in comedic fashion. A hilariously tangled web of truths, deception and surprises leaves the audience guessing – and laughing – all the way to the final curtain!

Van Wilmott

Artistic Director

Welcome to the Mayfield Dinner Theatre and welcome to The Long Weekend. Norm Foster is Canada’s most produced playwright and this adult comedy is one of his best. Two married couples are on a weekend getaway, where the truth and lies of their friendship come to the surface in this biting comedy of manners. Its sharp and to the point. And it is a scenario that we all can relate to…well on the surface, at any rate. I can’t really go into any further detail so as not to spoil any of the quirky turns that this play takes, suffice it to say that you are in for a treat. The Long Weekend features four great Edmontonian actors, all veterans of the Mayfield stage, and is directed by one of our favorite directors, Ron Ulrich. Relax and enjoy what promises to be a great evening of theatre!
