The Mayfield premieres an electrifying new series – Musicians Gone Wild – celebrating the music we love and the iconic artists who created it. Part one, Rock the Canyon, takes us through the magnetic music of Laurel Canyon, a creative garden of Eden nuzzled in the heart of the Hollywood Hills. Ignited by the Beatles invasion, an explosion of popular music hit the air waves as folk musicians of the sixties went electric and fashioned the California Sound. The music of The Beach Boys, The Byrds, The Turtles, The Doors, Buffalo Springfield, The Mamas and the Papas, Joni Mitchell and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young echoed throughout the Canyon inspiring a new wave of artists; Bonnie Raitt, Carole King, Linda Ronstadt and the most successful band in American History – The Eagles.
